About The Role

Working for our Stadium division in Las Vegas , the Senior Manager of Technical Compliance - Retail will manage the day-to-day technical regulatory and compliance requirements of Roar Digital’s Retail Product. The position will support the day-to-day compliance obligations and expansion of Roar Digital into regulated markets which will be delivered by Roar on both a B2B and B2C business model.


The role of the Senior Manager of Technical Compliance includes developing, implementing, maintaining and revising processes and systems to ensure the company’s compliance with technical standards required in the various jurisdictions in which we operate. This will require liaising with different regulatory authorities and testing laboratories on technical compliance matters where the business currently operates or intends to operate in.  A key aspect of the role will be to review and provide feedback on the technical impact to Roar’s operations in relation to any proposed legislative or regulatory changes in the jurisdictions where we operate.  The Senior Manager of Technical Compliance will be responsible for all formal technical submissions and manage the approval process.

 
Primary Responsibilities:
 

Manage Roar Digital’s daily regulatory technical compliance requirements

  • Identify technical regulatory requirements applicable to Roar Digital operations
  • Document technical regulatory requirements in a transparent and consistent manner
  • Analyze technical regulatory requirements in each State to determine alignment of Roar Digital’s operational processes.
  • Communicate relevant change and/or technical compliance requirements to responsible teams.
  • Independently investigate and act on matters related to technical operational compliance matters.
  • Ensure technology and operational activities are conducted in conformity with all applicable State laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures
  •  

    Provide consulting services on technical compliance with regulatory requirements to operational business units
  • Support the entry into new States or markets from inception to BAU operations
  • Respond to day-to-day technical compliance related inquiries
  • Facilitate identification and resolution of non-compliance with technical requirements
  • Participate in technology product roadmap sessions
  • Support product submissions with both state and 3rd party test labs for approvals
  • Provide supporting documentation for lab submissions

    Manage external compliance reviews

  • Prepare for and respond to regulatory audits
  • Ensure audit findings are addressed and support business units in closing potential gaps
  • Compile and distribute management summaries of audit results

    Promote compliance culture and raise compliance awareness

  • Promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization in line with Roar Digital’s overall compliance strategy
  • Raise awareness for compliance related topics in operational units.

    Act as point of contact for technical compliance matters

  • Liaise with Roar Digital’s regulatory authorities and provide input into response to regulator enquiries
 
 
Knowledge/Expertise/Qualifications:

Essential

  • 3-5 years of experience in a dedicated technical compliance role
  • Technical compliance understanding of sports betting (online and retail)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work as part of a team
  • Practical experience of responsible gaming
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to interpret regulatory documents
  • Good self-organization, ability to work independently and to meet deadlines
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory authorities
  • Operational experience in large technology related industry
  • Experience in game certification
  • Competent use of standard Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to contribute to technology and product discussions
  • Exposure to company regulatory suitability processes

    Desired

  • Knowledge of IT systems, software development, IT management best practices
  • Understanding of the online gambling industry and AML regulations
  • Knowledge of responsible gaming principles
