About The Role

The role of Head of Sports Product will be responsible for shaping the requirements to make BetMGM and the other ROAR digital sports brands the market leader in the US.  Responsible for the strategic planning of the ROAR sports betting product, you will work alongside other stakeholders in marketing and operations as well as wider GVC functions to craft playbooks on how we achieve a podium position in the US market. The role will command a 360 understanding of the competitive landscape with specific focus on product features, site UX, content objectives as well as wider brand marketing and promotional strategies. 

The role will be responsible for ensuring there is a very strong relationship between all commercial and customer facing functions. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Clear understanding on the competitive landscape including in depth SWOT analysis on each of our competitors  
  • Collaborate with other leaders to construct the proposition mosaic: What we want to achieve at all points of our sportsbook, from registration through to bet placement.  
  • Demonstrable understanding of the end to end proposition and all the functions that underpin our sportsbook:
    • Our value proposition 
    • Site functionality and usability 
    • Acquisition and retention techniques and mechanisms 
    • Bonus and promotional strategies 
  • Working with the Head of Sportsbook Performance, you will have a firm command of business KPI’s to help prioritise your workload, underpinned by business value. 
  • You will embed a measuring and monitoring approach to each of the proposition experiences that we create for our sportsbook customers that tracks business value. 
  • You will collaborate with the GVC sports product team to ensure the strategic initiatives are properly scoped and understood

 Experience and Qualifications 

  • Significant Sportsbook industry experience managing and leading at a senior level
  • Strong decision making capability in order to use data to drive decisions and business direction
  • With experience of operating within a Sportsbook environment.
  • Be able to operate in a matrix management environment, with numerous and varied stakeholders, you will have previous experience of working collaboratively with operational, marketing and product development teams
  • Previous experience of working within digital Sportsbook customer acquisition, retention and reactivation marketing would be beneficial but not essential
  • Demonstrable evidence of influencing at senior levels of an organisation, a strong articulator, you will be capable of communicating complex messages and influencing change within a matrix management structure
  • You possess a strong analytical mind capable of identifying and driving commercial benefits from data analysis
  • Strong understanding of all major sports and the levers that drive revenues, you will possess a comprehensive knowledge of sports coupled with a passionate, ingrained understanding of US bookmaking and its terminology
  • As a passionate consumer of betting and gaming products, you will understand the emotional and behavioral patterns of our customers
  • Your role will demand flexibility in your approach to working hours
