The Tax Manager will play a key role in the financial success of our business by monitoring and advising on all aspects of U.S. taxes, including state gaming taxes and sales and use taxes, and an awareness of corporate income taxes. You will report to the Controller and work with external advisers as well as liaising with in-house group tax specialists at our parents. This is an exciting opportunity to build on your existing technical knowledge, commercial awareness and project management skills in a fast-paced and rapidly-growing sector. Responsibilities

 
  • Build relationships and be the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for U.S. taxes, particularly indirect taxes
  • Liaise with external advisers and in-house group tax specialists at MGM and GVC
  • Monitor and stay up-to-date with the rapidly evolving landscape for U.S. gaming taxes
  • Analyze and advise on the tax implications of new products and expansion into new states
  • Lead and manage the response and delivery for all tax audits
  • Work with legal and compliance specialists and external regulators to ensure the appropriate taxation of sports betting, casino and poker products
  • Work with IT and product specialists on technical solutions for the correct calculation and application of gaming taxes, federal excise tax, player witholding taxes and tax reporting
  • Work with finance and ERP specialists on configuration of systems for accurate and efficient accounting and reporting of taxes
  •  Develop and present ideas and opportunities for optimisation and improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required; emphasis in Accounting or Tax preferred
  • At least 5 years of U.S. tax compliance experience in gambling or other highly regulated industry
  • Proven record navigating and interacting with complicated tax regimes and regulatory authorities across multiple states or regions
  • Passion for the sports betting and gambling sector
